Agro-Lig treated Carrot, cv. Camben, germinated in a Laponite gel and grown in the field under normal conditions had 19 % more large roots (diameter at shoulder > 3.5 cm), 15.3 % more small roots (diameter at shoulder < 3.5 cm), 19.5 % more roots in total, a 6.2 % higher weight of large roots and the same weight of small roots compared to the untreated control also germinated in the Laponite 508 gel.
