Biorend treated Gladiolus glandiflorum, var. Blanca Borrego, grown in optimal conditions needed 28 % less days before corm emergence, 3.8 % less days before initiation of floral spikes (ns),  had 3.4 % more leaves (ns), 206 % more flowers per spike, a 132 % longer vase life and 91.3 % more cormlets compared to the untreated control corms. The immersion time (30, 60 or 120 minutes) didn't have significant effects on the parameters, only there was a significant interaction between the immersion time and chitosan for the number of leaves and number of flowers per spike parameters.
