Red Jonathan, grown in an organic orchard, had no difference in leaf area (+3.4%), no difference in yield (-5.6%), no difference in number of fruits per tree (-8.4%), no difference in fruit weight (+1.6%), no difference in fruit diameter (+0.7%), fruits had no difference titratable acidity (+0.3%), no difference in color index (+69.9%), a significant higher total anthocyanin content (+35.3%) and no difference in ascorbic acid content in the pulp (-18.5%) compared to the untreated control.
