Effect
Humifirst treated Peace Lily, cv. Alfetta/Lima, grown in a peat-based substrate was after 3 repeated drought stress cycles on average 4.1 % taller and had on average 6.2 % broader leaves, 4.8 % longer leaves, 3.6 % less fresh weight, 1.3 % less dry weight and 3.2 % less root development, during drought stress Humifirst reduced at one moment the stomatal conductance significantly compared to the untreated control grown in the same drought stress conditions. Only positive significant effects on the plant height and leaf length of the cultivar Alfetta. The effect on the total chlorophyll content and the content of total phenolics varied between the different drought cycles and cultivars; Humifirst had a significant negative effect on the total chlorophyll content of cv. Alfetta after drought stress, but a significant positive effect on the total chlorophyll content of cv. Lima during drought stress compared to the untreated controls. No significant effect on the total phenolics content observed.
