Increased heat stress tolerance
Megafol treated tomato seedlings, cv. Heinz1706 grown in a growth chamber under different temperatures significantly enhanced plant height under 10 °C and 25 °C after 7 days and under 10 °C after 15 days, significantly increased stem diameter under 35 °C after 7 and 15 days and under 10 °C after 15 days, significantly enhanced the chlorophyll content under 25 and 35 °C after 15 days and the photosynthetic rate under 35 °C after 15 days, significantly enhanced aboveground biomass under 25 and 35 °C after 15 days and underground biomass under 10, 25 and 35 °C after 15 days compared to the untreated control grown under the same temperature conditions.
