Messenger Gold treated Cherry trees , 0900 Ziraat, grown under optimal growing conditions in an orchad had fruits with a significant lower weight loss during storage (- 11.4 % less loss after 7 days of cold storage, -18.9 % after 14 days and 20 % after 21 days), a (significant) lower decay ratio (-47.6 % after 14 days (sign) and -45.8 % after 21 days (sign), -47.9 % after 7 days cold storage + 3 days room temperature (sign), -6.2% after 14+3 and +7.2 % after 21+3), no difference in L* values except for 14 and 21 days at cold storage (-5.7 % and -5.5 %), no difference in chroma values (only significant lower at harvest -5.5 % and after 14+3 days -3.3 %), lower Hue angle (only significant at harvest: -11.1 %  and after 7 days of cold storage -12.1 %), no difference in firmness, no significant difference in soluble solids concentration, no significant difference in titratable acidity, no significant difference in vitamine C content (except at harvest + 8 % and after 21 days of cold storage +15.8 %), no significant difference in anthocyanin content only at harvest (+24.4 % and +34.1 % after 3 days of storage at room temperature),  significant higher total phenolics contents (+21.4 % at harvest, +7.1 % after 7, +8.3 % after 14 days and +12.4 % after 0+3, +2.6 % at 7+3 days of storage), no differences in antioxidant capacity except for 7 days after storage (+14.9% FRAP) and at harvest (+22.2 % TEAC) and after 7 days of cold storage (+25 % TEAC) compared to the untreated cherries.
