No effect on phosphorous P use efficiency
No effect on potassium K use efficiency
Increased produce quality
Potted plants of Rhododendron 'Tortoiseshell Orange' were grown on either 100% fertilization (0,8 µS/cm) or with 50% nutrient stress (0,4µS/cm). The amount of water recieved via top irrigation was the same for both. At 100% fertilization, fresh weight increased with 10%, plant surface increased with 13% and the chlorophyll content increased compared to the control.
At 50% fertilization, a small increase in fresh weight and plant surface were found and a small decrease in chlorophyll content, but not significant. Leaves of the plants in nutrient stress contained less N, P and K, but more Ca and Mn.
