Potted Red tip photinia/Christmas berry cv. 'Red Robin'plants were grown on either 100% fertilization (0,8 µS/cm) or with 50% nutrient stress (0,4µS/cm). The amount of water recieved via top irrigation was the same for both. In the treated plants with 100% fertilization, the branch length increased sligthly (2,1%), the number of branches increased (10,1%), and the fresh and dry weight increased (16,6% and 13,0%) compared to an untreated control. In the treated plants with 50% fertilization, the effects were also positive, especially for branch length (+4,5%) and number of branches (+26,9%). The effect for fresh and dry weight was also positive, but much smaller (1,3% and 1,7%) compared to an untreated control.
