Alfa Sao Francisco Cycle VIII, grown in a greenhouse with ambient CO2 concentrations had a 11.6 % taller shoot, 13.8 % more leafs/plant (ns), 47.7 % more shoot fresh weight, 40.7 % more shoot dry weight, 102.4 % more root fresh weight, 106.7 % more root dry weight, a 4.7 % higher shoot water content (ns), a 2.2 % lower root water content (ns), a 35.5 % higher root/shoot ratio, 16.2 % more mycorrhizal colonization, leafs contained 183.4 % more starch, 83.5 % more total soluble solids, 36.3 % more total soluble proteins, 65.6 % more chlorophyll and 123.6 % more carotenoids compared to the untreated control.
