Phylgreen treated Lettuce, var. ondatra, grown in the soil under a semi-open polyethylene tunnel had a 10 % higher fresh shoot biomass on the first harvesting day, had no difference in the chlorophyll (+3.4%), flavonol and athocyanin (-1.5%) content, in WUE (water use efficiency) and NUE (nutrient use efficiency), in leaves nitrate content compared to the untreated control.
