Effect
Increased nitrogen N use efficiency
Increased phosphorous P use efficiency
Increased potassium K use efficiency
Potted Red tip photinia/Christmas berry cv 'Red Robin'plants were grown on either 100% fertilization (0,8 µS/cm) or with 50% nutrient stress (0,4µS/cm). The amount of water recieved via top irrigation was the same for both. In the treated plants with 100% fertilization, the branch length increased (13,6%), the number of branches increased (6,4%), and the fresh and dry weight increased (17,0% and 11,9%) compared to an untreated control. In the treated plants with 50% fertilization, the effects were also positive, but much smaller for branch length (+9,4%), number of branches (+4,8%), fresh weigth (+7,5%) and dry weight (+4,6%) compared to an untreated control.
