Increased produce quality
Aminoplant treated Carrot, cv. Nandrin/Napoli, grown in a field had on average a 5.2 % higher yield, a 8.1 % higher marketable yield, 2.1 % longer roots, the same root diameter, the same amount leaf mass, a 3.8 % lower leaf:root ratio, carrots contained 1.1 % less dry matter, 3 % more soluble sugars, 3 % less carotenoids and 12.3 % more nitrates compared to the untreated control. The effect of the doses depended on the cultivar and the year.
