Red Jonathan, grown in an organic orchard, had no difference in leaf area (+5.8%), no difference in yield (+6.2%), no difference in number of fruits per tree (+3.7%), no difference in fruit weight (+1%), no difference in fruit diameter (+2.6%), fruits had no difference in titratable acidity (+8%), no difference in color index (+26.3%), no difference in total anthocyanin content (+35.3%) and no difference in ascorbic acid in the pulp (+11.2%), compared to the untreated control.
