Veramin ca treated Common bean, grown under normal irrigation, showed significantly increased number of pods (+7.3%), increased mean pod weight (+11.1%), increased yield (+11.8%), increased 100 seed weight (+10.9%) and decreased number of seeds per pod (-11.1%), seeds had decreased moisture (-4.4%), decreased fat (-7.5%), increased proteins (+1.7%), increased ash (+3.1%), no difference in carbohydrates (-0.7%), increased energy (+0.8%), decreased N (-3.7%), no difference in K, decreased P (-29.3%), no difference in Na (-11.1%), decreased Ca (-38.7%), increased Mg (+57.1%), decreased Cu (-37.3%), increased Zn (+61.5%), decreased Mn (-90%), no difference in total tocopherols, increased oxalic acid (+30.8%), increased malic acid (+18.2%), decreased ascorbic acid (-6.8%), increased total organic acids (+11.7%), no difference in sucrose (-1%), no difference in total sugars (-1%), increased C16:0, increased C18:0, decreased C18:1n9c, decreased C18:2n6c, decreased C18:3n3, increased SFA, decreased MUFA and increased PUFAwhen totalled across two harvests, compared to untreated control plants.
