Effect
Decreased nitrogen N use efficiency
Decreased phosphorous P use efficiency
Decreased potassium K use efficiency
Potted Red tip photinia/Christmas berry cv. 'Red Robin'plants were grown on either 100% fertilization (0,8 µS/cm) or with 50% nutrient stress (0,4µS/cm). The amount of water recieved via top irrigation was the same for both. In the treated plants with 100% fertilization, the branch length increased (6,6%), the number of branches increased (2,6%), and the fresh and dry weight increased 12,2 and 7,8%) compared to an untreated control. In the treated plants with 50% fertilization, the effects only positive for the number of branches (+4,8%), and negative for branch length (-5,1%), fresh weigth (-13,3%) and dry weight (-12,3%) compared to an untreated control.
