Effect
Increased salt stress tolerance
Vivema TWIN treated tomato, cv. Heinz 1706, grown in pots in a greenhouse had no difference in number of roots except under 200 mM NaCl salt stress, had significant long roots and a significant higher root fresh weight under 100 and 200 mM NaCl, a significant higher NDVI under 100 mM NaCl compared to the untreated control grown under the same salt stress conditions.
Trial details
indoor, greenhouse, grown in pots filled with 100 % sand, short-term and long-term salt stress conditions (100 mM and 200 mM NaCl solutions)
Italy
Crop
Tomato, Solanum lycopersicum L.
Trial application
Method
Foliar spray
Timing
Short-term salt stress: First application after the first true leaf appearance, followed by a second treatment 4 days later; Long-term salt stress: first application after the first true leaf appearance, followed by 3 treatments every 7 days
Rate
